The fourth Hermanus FynArts Festival taking place from 10 to 19 June this year once again sees the participation of Creation Wines. The Estate on the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge near Hermanus not only hosts an exciting exhibition of sculptures by the award-winning Gavin Risi, but also offers a Wine and Food Pairing Demonstration as well as a Wine and Food Pairing Dinner in collaboration with The Eatery, a well-known restaurant in Hermanus.
“As dedicated supporters of the arts, we are proud to participate in this joyous festival again,” says Creation marketing director, Carolyn Martin. She points out that fine winemaking is an art in itself and to celebrate this art Creation’s viticulturist and winemaker, Jean-Claude Martin, has created the exquisite single-vineyard Art of Creation Chardonnay and Art of Creation Pinot Noir.
“We are truly delighted to curate the sculptures of the highly gifted Gavin Risi during the FynArts Festival,” Carolyn continues. Over the past 24 years Risi’s art has been exhibited in galleries around the world and the magnificent Creation landscape is a perfect venue for his remarkable sculptures constructed from copper and galvanised wire.
During the FynArts Festival Carolyn, who is an artist in her own right, will also be sharing her particular skills – Flavour Profiling and the Art of Wine and Food Pairing. Her Wine and Food Pairing Demonstration takes place on 16 June, 15h00 at the Whale Coast Hotel in Hermanus and will feature Carolyn and the Creation Culinary Team in an exciting display of how the inherent qualities of wine and food can combine to create the ultimate taste sensation.
Also scheduled for the Festival is a delectable four course set menu paired with Creation’s award-winning wines at The Eatery in Hermanus. Aptly titled “The Art of Wine and Food Pairing”, this event takes place on 17 June, 18h30 and promises to be a highlight on the festival programme.
