In this popular series we feature selected sommeliers from top restaurants around the world. Each chooses his or her favourite Creation wine, tells us why and recommends a matching dish. This week we welcome Bongani Ngwenya from the popular seafood restaurant Codfather in Sandton.
My choice fell on the Creation Pinot Noir with its inviting colour. On the nose the red berry aromas are very prominent, with the slight notes of wood spice accentuating these. The aromas follow through on the full, richly textured and harmoniously balanced palate which impresses with its freshness and lingering finish.
Creation. Always a Celebration
Since the establishment of Creation in 2002, its dynamic team has been striving to reward the wine lover with wines of rare balance, elegance, distinction and finesse. That they are fulfilling this mission is apparent from the ever-growing list of accolades garnered for their wines at top competitions.
Commenting on the latest array of accolades, Carolyn Martin, co-owner and marketing director of Creation Wines says: “It is always great to receive recognition for our wines from professional tasting panels and wine experts of this stature. We are blessed with exceptional winegrowing conditions and it will remain our focus to reflect this wonderful terroir in our wines.”

Excellent tasting session. Really attentive and knowledgeable staff (Carolyn) with some excellent wine and food pairings. For anyone with interest in either wine or food this is highly recommended.

An excellent afternoon spent enjoying the Tapas pairing – with an exceptionally knowledgeable waitress (Jo-Ann) parting her knowledge of wines and food. Thoroughly enjoyable and worth the drive from Cape Town.

I wish there was an additional option to rate service even higher. Because of Jo-ann’s attention to detail, hospitality and her attentiveness and assistance with our 13 month old son, we will be back very soon.

We had the most incredible wine pairing lunch at Creation. I can honestly say that I have been to about 70 wine lunch or dinners in the past year and this was by far the best I have ever had. Stephanie was just an absolute gem and I honestly believe she is the best employee I have ever seen in the winelands. I will definitely be back.
