In this popular series we feature selected restaurants from around the world. Each chooses a favourite Creation wine, tells us why and recommends a matching dish. This week we welcome the stylish Nigel Pace and Sarah Ord from The Stack in Cape Town

Nigel says:

The choice of wine was not a tricky one! The Creation Art of Chardonnay is a feast in a bottle – everything you can hope for – and I’m a great Chardonnay fan. The wine has a great texture and the oak integration is exceptional! The beautiful freshness appeals to all the senses. This excellent calibre Chardonnay is what white wine is all about. It also reflects the good life – full, sophisticated with layers and layers of loveliness.

Curry & Spice & All Things Nice

unnamed3Carolyn Martin, Creation marketing director and wine pairing guru, recently discovered that she actually loves curry. “I had a feast cooked for me by one of the best curry chefs in South Africa, Yudhika Sujanani, in her restaurant Holi Cow in Fourways, Johannesburg.”  Carolyn says that over-spicy food is often the enemy of wine and definitely not her favourite. “However, prepared by Yudhika, my dish was incredibly flavourful and fragrant.”

For the 911 of curry you need Yudhika’s book, Curry me Home Again and Memoirs.

Welcome to our Little Piece of Paradise

Situated some 18 kilometres from the coastal resort of Hermanus, Creation is more than a wine farm; it is a glorious destination where a warm welcome awaits young and old. Click here to make a reservation. Here is a comment from one of our visitors:

We had a wonderful late lunch at Creation. Eight-course tapas tasting menu with accompanying wines. Service was very attentive and provided great explanation on both food and wine. Some of the wines were still a bit young but paired well with the food. We couldn’t resist ordering a few bottles to bring the experience home. Although definitely more commercial than other wine houses we visited we highly recommend to visit while in the Hermanus area.
