No doubt about it: harvest is the highlight on our estate calendar. At the time of writing Creation is buzzing with activity and anticipation as all the care lavished on our vineyards throughout the year finally comes to fruition.
It is a time of great joy but also a time of hard work and we are happy indeed to welcome our three talented and energetic interns on board: Bobby Wallace (local), Nick Rothlisberger from Switzerland and Juan Pina from Argentina.
Cape Wine Auction 2017
The Cape Wine Auction broke its own record on Saturday by raising R22.3 million at the Antonij Rupert Wine Estate. The proceeds will be allocated to 22 beneficiaries who make a profound impact on education and the lives of children in the Cape Winelands. The Lionel and Anton Smit collaborative sculpture‚ created especially for the auction and standing 3 metres tall realised R1.2 million. Cape Wine Auction Director‚ Darielle Robertson‚ said they were overwhelmed by the generosity of the bidders. “We set out aiming to raise R15 million this year but the final amount has literally left everyone speechless. The commitment to giving-back‚ changing lives and sharing good fortune was certainly testament in the overwhelming bids raised. With this money we can expand our programmes and reach even greater heights with the progress we have achieved so far.”
Creation Wines’ Lot Number 31 raised a whopping R500 000. Jean-Claude (JC) and Carolyn Martin were in attendance and described it as the best Cape Wine Auction since it first took place in 2014. “We’re delighted with the outcome; the Cape Wine Auction is truly a remarkable way of raising funds for community causes in the South African Winelands,” said Carolyn.
Feed a Child
Visitors to the Creation Tasting Room will have the opportunity of contributing to the Pebbles Hemel-en-Aarde After-School Care feeding scheme by asking their waitron to add R10 pp to their bill.
This will be an entirely voluntary donation and we would like your feedback on the matter. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on how to help.
Yes, it’s Klink season again and at Creation we’re delighted to be a nominee in the category that we love best: Wine and Food Pairing. As proud recipients of three Klink awards for Best Food and Wine Pairing we look forward to competing in the same category – now named ‘Great Pairings’ – once more.
Creation is a pioneer in the field of Wine and Food Pairing, offering no less than eight pairing options. Among these are the famous Tapas Pairing, the intriguing Secret Pairing, the scrumptious Brunch Pairing and the popular Kids Surprise Pairing. The latest innovations are Wine and Herb as well as Wine and Flower Pairings while a brand-new Vegan repertoire is being developed. In short: when it comes to Wine and Food Pairing, there’s always something new and unique in the pipeline!
Wine Tourism South Africa’s Klink Awards plays a proactive role in promoting one of South Africa’s fastest growing sectors – the local wine tourism industry. Unlike other local wine awards, it is consumer-driven, interacting with wine lovers to solicit their feedback via votes and social media indicators regarding their favourite experiences.
So, let your own experience be the deciding factor … Do you feel Creation deserves to be Klink’s ‘Great Pairings’ Champion? Then please go to winetourismsouthafrica.co.za/sliceofsa/, click on ‘Great Pairings’ and cast your vote – which is very important to us!

What a beautiful way to spend a lunch time. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable throughout the experience. We had eight courses of tapas and 9-10 different wines to go with them, each carefully explained on why it would go with the various foods we were served. These are decent sized portions of tapas so you won’t leave hungry. Highly recommend thus, but do pre-book.

I always think that wine is better tasted with food and this winery has got this formula down to a fine art. You pay for the food, and very good it is too, and they let you taste the various wines with it at no extra cost. We opted for the main menu rather than the tasting tapas menu and had a lovely tomato salad starter followed by chicken or salmon trout. Very good it was. The wines are excellent too. Great concept. Very enjoyable.
