This past weekend saw one of our team members participate in the Walker Bay Outdoor Festival. Daniela Hugo took on the 20-km Trail Run race with her sisters and friend as her support and ended up in 10th place. Well done to Daniela, who commented: “Hermanus must be one of the most beautiful places to run and what a wonderful feeling to be out there in nature, taking in the crisp fynbos air. Thank you to Creation for sponsoring the gifts and to Walker Bay Outdoor Festival for a fantastic weekend. Be sure not to miss WBO 2023!”

Winemaker Jean-Claude Martin calls this his “village wine”, produced from 11 different blocks at Creation, tucked away at the top end of the painterly Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Deftly wooded in 10% new barrels, it has an engaging combination of citrus, pear, nutmeg and beeswax flavours lifted by acidity. A very impressive Cape white from a Chardonnay master. – Tim Atkin MW
