Media Release by Creation Wines and Chef Warwick Taylor

After a mutually rewarding relationship over the past few years, Creation Wines and Warwick Taylor have come to an amicable agreement to bring their current business association to an end.

Chef Warwick Taylor wishes to focus on new challenges. The parties concerned would like to express their gratitude towards each other for the mutual support and friendship in the past. As both are established business ‘teams’ in the Overstrand hospitality industry and believe in supporting the local tourism industry and economy, they will continue supporting each other’s businesses in future.

At Creation Wines owner Carolyn Martin is of the belief that Creation should always be true to its ethos of innovation. “Kaizen” is the trendsetting spirit that was recently acknowledged when Creation was awarded the prestigious Great Wine Capitals of the World Award for the Most Innovative Wine Estate in South Africa for the second time.

The innovative Creation culinary team now comprises Jaco Grové (executive chef), Eleanor Niehaus (sous chef) and Francois Hugo (sous chef) who are looking forward to bringing new pairing ideas and experiences to the Creation Tasting Room.

Jaco Grové started his career in 2000, doing his practical training under the mentorship of some of South Africa’s top chefs. During his 16 years in the industry he was head chef at a number of the top restaurants in Camps Bay, including Paranga, Zenzero and Bungalow. Among his most recent positions was that of head chef on board the 56 m yacht Feadship M/Y Madsummer. Chef Jaco has been at Creation for 18 months.

Chef Eleanor Niehaus gained valuable experience working at Arabella Hotel and Spa and South Lodge Hotel ‘Exclusive Hotels’ – Horsham England, to mention a few. Chef Eleanor worked at Creation from 2013; we welcome her back after a six month break.

Francois Hugo started his chef career at Mount Grace Country House and Spa, moving to Arabella Hotel and Spa outside Hermanus and then to Springfontein Eats, Stanford where he worked with Michelin Star Chef Jürgen Schneider. Chef Francois has been at Creation for over a year.

The rest of the Creation culinary team remains intact and we will be replacing the commis chefs and adding chefs de partie.
