Behind the Scenes of Creation’s Seasonal Soundtrack
Guests at Creation’s Tasting Room often compliment us on our background music, which doesn’t only sets the mood but also helps to awaken all the senses for an immersive and memorable culinary journey.
Like our pairing menu, the soundtrack changes from season to season, and the person entrusted with curating it is DJ Tess Prins, who has worked with international performers including the Black Eyed Peas, Norah Jones and Wyclef Jean, and whose sets cover a broad range of genres that span a 25+ year collection.
‘People often ask me what it’s like to curate music for Creation,’ she says. ‘For me, it starts with a question: how would this season sound if it were food? That question sets the tone for every playlist I build.
‘My job as Creation’s music curator is to build a four-hour “harvest” of sound – a playlist that complements the dishes, the wines, and the mood of the room. It’s about creating an audio journey that feels as intentional as the food itself.’

Taking place in Muldersdrift this weekend, 4-5 October, The Luxurious Marble Circus promises to be ‘a Fantasma of Feastery, Finery and Funnery’ – and Creation will be there!
