Creation Helps Explain Why Microbes Matter in Winemaking
At Creation, we regard sustainable winemaking as an art (watch our film), but we also always look to science to understand nature better. To this end, we work with research scientists on a variety of local and global projects, and recently we were part of a study undertaken by Stellenbosch University’s South African Grape and Wine Research Institute (SAGWRI) in collaboration with the University of the Western Cape’s Institute for Microbial Biotechnology and Metagenomics.
The scientists were looking at the fascinating microbial diversity found in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (the grape varieties in which we specialise), and how these indigenous microbes shape the quality and character of wine.

Meet Chantal, our sales agent in Pretoria/Hartbeespoort
One of Creation’s most passionate brand ambassadors is Chantal Bovey Bezuidenhout, our sales agent in Pretoria and Hartbeespoort.
‘What strikes me about Creation is the passion they have for what they do. They live this passion, and it shows. But they are also fabulous at innovation and creative thinking.’

Greenpop Fest filled with Purpose – and Creation Wines
This past weekend, our sales and marketing manager, Daniela Messina-Hugo, attended the Greenpop Reforest Fest at Bodhi Khaya Nature Retreat, where she joined 1,000 volunteers in planting 5,000 trees in one day.
She described the experience as ‘an inspiring step toward restoring ecosystems and reconnecting people with the planet’.
In between powerful talks and restoration workshops, Creation hosted a tasting at the Conservation Wines tent, where we connected with festival-goers over a shared commitment to sustainability. We proudly shared why we participate in the WWF Conservation Champion programme and how our involvement in the ‘Follow the Sugarbird’ initiative reflects our long-term dedication to environmental stewardship.
‘It was a festival filled with purpose, people, and planet,’ says Daniela.
