Creation Syrah Awarded Prestigious Podlashuk Trophy

“If innovation makes your cellar’s heart beat sustainably, you could win the coveted Bellingham Bernard Podlashuk trophy and prize as a Shiraz producer this year.” This was the call for entries, at Creation we took up the challenge – and won!

Introduced by Shiraz SA in 2022 as part of their annual Shiraz Challenge, the trophy is named after Bernard Podlashuk who is regarded as the father of South African Shiraz. This year’s criteria were ‘excellence, innovation, creativity, sustainability, and social responsibility’.

This Week in the Vineyards

Our vineyard team has been busy collecting soil samples – how good to see all the earthworms! Signs of life in the soil result from sustainable farming. The team is also planting Marsanne and Piquepoul Blanc vines. Marsanne originates from the Northern Rhône Valley and Piquepoul Blanc from the Languedoc-Roussillon and Southern Rhône Valley in France. Exciting!
