At Creation we believe fine winemaking is an art in itself and that this art has its roots in the terroir. To celebrate our unique terroir, Cellarmaster Jean-Claude Martin launched our exclusive The Art of Creation wine portfolio in 2013. Comprising a limited-release Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir, the single-vineyard, single-site ‘Art’ range has since won accolade upon accolade with Masters of Wine and fine wine connoisseurs singing its praises.

Among the most recent reviews is an article by Andy Howard MW in this month’s Decantermagazine under the headline, ‘Hemel-en-Aarde: A Chardonnay Paradise’. “In just a few decades, this arrestingly beautiful part of South Africa’s south has risen to join the elite of regions reputed as top-quality sources of the world’s best-loved white grape,” writes Andy. At Creation we’re proud to have our 2022 Art of Chardonnay among the top scoring wines, (95/100) with Andy remarking: “Pristine, with a very cool feel on the palate. Chassagne-like, showing hints of smokiness, vibrant acidity and a powerful saline character that add up to a complex, pithy, concentrated wine that will age beautifully.”

Robert Parker Wine Advocate  ratings are eagerly awaited by producers of fine wines, worldwide. In the January review of 501 South African wines, the 2022 Creation Art of Pinot Noir came up top among the Pinot Noirs. It is rated an impressive 95/100 and described as having “. . . a fresh and expressive nose that offers complex and subtly spiced aromas of potpourri, rose petals, picturesque red fruit and seductive oak with brown baking spices . . .”

This accolade follows in the wake of a three-day tasting of premium Pinot Noir from North and South America, Australasia and South Africa, held at the end of last year, where the 2022 Creation Art of Pinot Noir scored an ‘Outstanding’ 95 points. The tasting was conducted by three international Masters of Wine: Anne Krebiehl, Justin Knock and Dirceu Vianna Junior. The latter described the wine as precise in style with “buckets of forest fruits and a hint of spice. Beautifully structured, vivid freshness leads to a mouth-watering finish.”
