Equilibrium at Creation
Coinciding with the opening of the 2023 FynArts Festival on 9 June, is the launch of our collaborative art exhibition titled ‘Equilibrium’ in the Creation Tasting Room. Created by the gifted sculptor, Nanette Ranger, and photographer and scientist, Sean Ranger, the works represent the pursuit of balance amidst the oscillating motion of a world in flux.
In response to the tumultuous tides of the present, Nanette’s sculptures serve as a symbolic reminder that dynamic balance is possible through connection, with each other and the natural world. The exquisite sculptures invite visitors out into the garden while simultaneously inviting wildlife into the garden by the use of bird feeders, bird baths and safe insect hotels that form part of the sculptural works.

Over this past weekend our Western Cape ambassador, Christien Herbst, represented Creation at the Karoo Stoep Kuier. Here is what she has to say: “What an experience! The atmosphere screamed excitement, exhilaration and a love to be alive. Add Creation to the mix and you have an experience beyond measure. It was such a privilege to meet such a diverse group of people, interact, exchange laughs and let them leave the Creation stand with a warm smile in their hearts and much more knowledge than they came with. Although there was snow on the mountains, the sun was out to play and warmed us up. The people were so friendly and helpful. It was an experience that I will cherish close to my heart to tell one day when I sit on my stoep!”
