Here in the Overberg we’ve just experienced the worst floods in the past 108 years. Within 18 hours, we recorded almost half our annual rainfall of 309 mm at Creation.

The floods have devastated many, and we are incredibly grateful that everyone is safe and Creation did not suffer much damage. Due to the staunch support of our team, we have been able to recover quickly. Many thanks are in order. Firstly, to JC and Urle for their brave efforts on Sunday night, which secured the pump house and dam. I also wish to thank the members of our team for helping each other and a special thank you to the culinary team for reaching out to the community.

Our doors are open, and visitors to our region can be assured of an exceptional experience, as always. Our Wi-Fi and telephone reception has been restored and we look forward to your reservation. It might just take a little longer to reach us at present, but rest assured of a warm welcome!

The short journey from Caledon takes around 20 minutes along the R320.

The authorities are currently working on the Hermanus side of the R320 and a stop-and-go facility may be in place. We will keep you posted.

Vienna, that magical city of dreams, was recently the stage for Creation Cellarmaster Jean-Claude (JC) Martin to showcase his award-winning Art of Creation Chardonnay and Art of Creation Pinot Noir. His short visit covered a selection of the city’s most famous culinary establishments, at some of which he also featured other stars in the Creation wine range.
