Welcome to Creation

We see our Tasting Room as a communication hub, with our team actively listening to and learning from our guests every day. This sets up a cycle of innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Carolyn Martin

First of all, a warm welcome to the readership of our weekly newsletter. Whether you’re a new or a regular follower, we take great pleasure in sharing our journey with you.

Situated in the Hemel-en-Aarde, which aptly translates as ‘Heaven and Earth’, Creation is about a sense of place. When you live and work in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom, in one of the most biodiverse wine regions in the world, there isn’t a moment when you are not conscious of what that means and the weight it carries. Working with nature is the very inspiration and innovation that is Creation. Sustainability is at the core of the fine wines we produce.

Over the last couple of months our estate has been buzzing with local and international guests. And what joy to share the bounty of our region. I want people to feel the beauty of nature. I want them to enjoy the incredible local produce and the exquisite wines, particularly our Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. And, rest assured: we’re committed to preserving our natural heritage for generations to come. To this end we collaborate with leading scientific and academic initiatives in our industry, using applied science to better understand and respond to nature.

Creation:

Innovation fired by passion

Charisma dancing on the breeze

Authenticity born of the earth

Memories to treasure

Inspiration to shoot for the moon

What's Happening at Creation
Creation 2024 Harvest Journal: Week 2

Some 20% of our harvest has safely reached the cellar while the precious grapes for the Art of Chardonnay and Art of Pinot Noir are now being gathered. At Creation all our grapes are handpicked; our harvest team knows exactly what to look for in a bunch, ensuring that no overripe or damaged grapes or leaves land in the crates. This precludes the need for sorting tables and additional handling.

What about harvest predictions? Well, we always say never count your chickens until they have hatched! Currently, the team is enjoying the energy and the flow of the harvest, recognising Mother Nature as the ‘director’.
